So my Birchbox has arrived this week! Hooray

Firstly I have to mention how sexy the box is..... O.M.G it's stunning 😍

You've probably notice that I love the marble look and most of my pictures have this as a background, I also love Rose Gold too so for me this months box is so on point!πŸ‘Œ

May Birchbox Goodies

1st Product -Dr Brandt Microdermabrasion Skin exfoliant (Age Defying) πŸ‘

I tried this product last night and I love it, you have to slightly wet your face and then rub this in for 1 to 2 mins. Straight away I noticed at how well it was exfoliating my skin, the particles are so tiny that it gives a really good scrub. If I'm putting a scrub on my face I want to feel that it's working, none of this gentle business.

You only need to use a small amount of product to get the results you want.

After I used this, my skin had that satisfying clean, shiny (bright) look to it, I felt that it really had removed a layer of dead skin.

Because it was so efficient I would probably only want to use this once a week followed by a really moisturising mask, that way you are taking advantage of the fact that the Microdermabrasion really helps your skin absorb products better.

It contains:
  • Chamomile - calms and soothes.
  • Aloe vera - healing emollient that soothes irritations (one of my Fave products)
  • Aluminum oxide - pharmaceutical grade crystals that polish and remove dead skin cells.
  • Jojoba - easily absorbed vegetable oil that soothes and softens the skin.
  • Lactic acid - alpha hydroxy acid derived from milk gently sweeps away dead skin cells and softens skins texture.
I will definitely try to incorporate this into my weekly skincare routine as I feel that although I am using the Glow tonic (Glycolic Acid) I could still do with an additional layer of exfoliation.

2nd Product - Kueshi Shine Volume Mask πŸ‘

I also used this last night whilst washing my hair and I have to say the first thing I noticed was the gorgeous smell! It takes me back to a familiar smell but I can't quite put my finger on it.

Kueshi Shine Volume Mask

After using this mask on my hair as expected it felt soft after washing, I noticed my hair was less harder to untangle with my Tangle Teezer hair brush. I blow dried it the same as usual but I really noticed a difference when I went to straighten my hair. The straighteners glided through my hair and styled perfectly although I didn't notice a boost in volume as advertised by the product.

It contains
  • Rice Proteins
  • Calendula & Jojoba Oil
  • Shea Butter

Another positive of this mask is that it hasn't affected the balance of my hair, I suffer from PCOS and one of the side affects of that is that I am prone to dandruff. I am always a bit hesitant to try new hair products in case it causes a flare up of dandruff but so far so good. Again I would probably only use this once a week unless my hair was dyed or in quite a bad condition.

3rd Product - Doucce punk volumizer mascara πŸ‘

This mascara was fab to apply, it was refreshing to use a big 'normal' mascara brush not one of those plastic contraptions that I'm used (not to say I don't love those too)

I love the way this made my lashes look, the pictures speak for themselves it really did give them volume without being clumpy too. I'm going to alternate between this and my Benefit Roller Lash mascara for a while

Ooohh lashes!!

The only downside to this mascara is that it's not waterproof, this doesn't really matter to me as I don't intend to do a deep sea dive whilst wearing mascara but it might to some πŸ™Š

I would also advise people to apply their mascara before there other makeup as with a big brush it can get messy.

4th Product - Marsk Mineral Eyeshadow - Vanilla Frosting πŸ‘Œ
This eye shadow comes in a cute little box, it is originally an Australian brand. The eyeshadow itself comes in a loose powder form instead of compressed.

When I swatched the colour on my I noticed how pigmented the colour was, it was super shiny and I think it could potentially double up as a highlighter if you were after a really light shade. You can also use as an eyeliner if you wet your brush first.

Shiny!

5th Product - Whish Firming Body Cream πŸ‘Ž

I've been looking for a new body cream as the one I'm currently using is not being restocked at Avon, I'm gutted as it made my skin ultra smooth.

I've tried this cream and although it doesn't feel like it's toning my skin or reducing the appearance of blemishes, it does smell amazing and my skin feels moisturised. I get the feeling that this cream might be a good idea if pregnant, I think it would be good to rub on potential stretchmark areas.

I hope you enjoyed reading this months Birchbox review, I cannot wait to see what next month has in store.

Hope you enjoyed your goodies if you received a box this month, what did you think? Comment in the space below.

With Love
