Rug Doctor - The little Red Beast

Hi Guys!

So I haven't done any housey/DIY stuff for a while so thought I would do a quick post on my new best friend!

After renovating our bathroom and spare room we were left with so much dust trodden into our carpets, they were absolutely filthy and are only a two years old! 😢

After Mr R carried out a bit of research we decided to take the plunge.

Here is the little beast!

We hired the Rug Doctor for two days and it cost £38.99 and the solution was £13.87. We also purchased a high traffic spray which was only £4.46 bargain! We hired ours from Homebase but you can also get this from your local B&Q too.

We bought a 2L detergent which states is enough solution to cover 4 rooms but I do think it will go much further than just 4 rooms. We were able to clean our living room (twice), stairs, hallway and two bedrooms. We were also left with around a 3rd of solution left.

We decided to hire the widetrack version as this was thought to be quicker, we would agree.

You need one form of ID when paying by card but if paying by cash you will need two forms of ID

Here's a handy little link on the RugDoctor website how to use: https://www.rugdoctor.co.uk/how-to-use/how-to-clean-your-carpets

1. Firstly you need to remove the white collection bucket, this was easy to do you just move the black handle

2. Then you fill the black basket with the solution amount given in your instructions, in our case we filled it up with 225ml into the bucket and then filled up to halfway up the filter screen with hand hot water.

3. Replace the empty white bucket

4. Get into position

Go!

5. You need to push the button on top to release the solution and pull along. When I took over I was taking tiny pigeon steps and looked like a right Wally!

This was the room before we started, you can see how dirty it is and the difference between the used carpet and the carpet which is usually under the sofa
This is during the cleaning, look at those beautiful clean lines! My little munchkin cant help but get involved.

This is the dirty water collected in the bottom... Eww!
6. Once the machines stops circulating the water its time to empty the white bucket and fill the red section with clean water and solution

The Rug Doctor also comes with a handy little tool which did a brilliant job on our stairs and hard to reach places.

It is so easy to use! It's not too heavy or difficult to pull along so I think that this could work for everyone.

Clean Carpet
Ta Da!!    This is the cleaned carpet
Its hard to tell the difference from the picture but believe me there is such a difference! The carpet looks and feels clean and it has its bounce back. It smells a lot cleaner too!

I am so overjoyed by this little piece of machinery, Mr R is also very impressed and that takes a lot!

I cannot recommend this enough and my friends are probably sick of hearing about it! I will definitely consider hiring this again as I think its such good value for money. For under £60 I have my clean carpets back.

My carpets are (nearly) restored to their former glory. One happy Mumma here 😃
